A short essay of comparison and contrast:   Many people in weste and easte cultures believe that “ birds of a feather flock together”, in a sense that our social rank, economic status and level of literacy should fit our friends’ in order to have a better mutual understanding and enjoy the benefits of an appropriate friendship. If it were nothing but a deal, the statement might be true. But, history of human relationships shows that length of a friendship has been hard to measure based on these predetermined factors.   Taking a brief, but critical, look at ordinary human relationships in comparison with a more unusual one which, although unacceptable to some groups of people, is as long as the hills, the relation between humans and dogs, we are to see how even biological differences can be inconsiderable when speaking of friendship. In other words, many a dog forms so lifelong and loyal a friendship that very few humans are capable of doing so.   As a generally accepted fact which can be effortlessly proved by an observation, dogs’ unswerving loyalty is legendary. Having known a human as her/his friend, a dog most probably never leave the person unless death sever their friendship or the human side puts an end to the relationship through deserting the dog in an unknown and unknowable place. Dogs require nothing for their loyalty but their friends’ attention, while all their attention and care are devoted to their friends. Dear Dr Anani,Following the syllabus for the course Advanced Writing, I have written the cover letter to explain to you what  course works I have posted on my weblog during the  semester.A short piece of writing about observations was probably the first post, followed by a 3 paragraph essay on academic writing wich has been commented on by you and afterwars revised by me. The next posts can be referred to in a rather chronological order: my  autobiography, two narrative paragraphs (a past and a present one), two descriptive paragraphs (I have written three), one expository paragraph, two other essays (expository, comparison/contrast), a note on self-evaluation,  and this letter itself.   It has been unfortunately proven by our tireless and repetitive efforts to the world's public opinion that many of us, the Iranian, are incapable of respecting other's privacy, even and especially in cyberspace. The serious case probably began when, in FIFA World Cup group matches, an Australian referee did his job, in his concluded dead time of the match, Lionel Messi scored the only goal, Iran lost to Argentina, in the blink of an eye; Messi and the referee found their pages openhandedly filled with millions of irrelevant and extremely ribald Idea In Persian, and eventually world gaped at the whole thing in a deep shock. But the story had just began; we had found the dirty game highly amusing, virtually empowering, morbidly satisfying and indirectly benefiting( because of the availability of free advertisement on famous people pages). The victims did not remain limited to sports figures; foreign and home actors and actresses, foreign_but not home high-ranking politicians, and anyone who talk and have a picture have been just some examples of these attacks.     All they had_ if limited, inconsiderable and immaterial_ were to offer freehandedly even to unfamiliar guests, an unbelievable fact beyond the general myth, that we_ all Iranians_ are the most generous,  which contradicts our real everyday lives.  Although many of them, esp. the older, didn't speak Farsi and we didn’t know Kurdish but very few basic words, we all had the most common language of the world in our eyes and emotions. The warmhearted people of poverty-stricken Javanroud welcomed us, unknown travelers, with honestly open arms and doors. They offered their simple meals, if they had any; provided us with fresh water, if they didn't; and invited us in to use the bathroom if there was nothing to share. They got nothing in retu, but smiles of satisfaction. She was in the second floor of a decaying building and had nothing in hand to hand out, but her smile and something that she said in Kurdish, hugging a vase in her humble balcony; someone else translated "take a picture of my flower". I took and watched in her eyes her unrequited love for the fragile flower in a plastic vase. That might be her mere friend and family member, all her emotional and material property.
